Alicia Hagedorn B.Sc.P.T. Registered Physiotherapist Alicia graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physical Therapy from Queen's University in 2002. Since graduation she has completed advanced coursework inTreatment of Disorders of the Lumbar Spine and Pelvis, Treatment of Dysfunctions of the Thorax and Breathing Re-Education, Pilates and Biomechanics of the Foot and Ankle. Alicia is also pursuing her Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy offered by the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Throughout her career, she has been involved with developing the following programs:
Alicia is Co-Owner and Clinical Director of The Physio & Massage Institute Ltd., a company that was established in 2004. The Physio & Massage Institute Ltd. was founded with the following mission: To provide excellence in the areas of Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Personal Training, Orthotics and Pilates and deliver healthcare interventions that are effective and grounded in scientific research. Alicia directs a team of highly skilled professionals to fulfil the needs of our clients. |

Dr. Devin Govindasamy Ph.D. (Kinesiology) Dr. Govindasamy obtained a Ph.D in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario in 2001. With training and expertise in topics related to Fitness and the Older Adult and Exercise and Aging Devin has published 2 books and several scientific papers on these subjects. A sample of these includes: Longitudinal study of the determinants of dependence in the elderly population Anaerobic power of the arms and legs of older men Endurance training of older men: responses to submaximal exercise Cardiorespiratory adaptation with short term training in older men Dr Govindasamy is also a Certified Kinesiologist and has worked in various aspects of the rehabilitation and medical assessment industry. |
